How We Approach Every Pension Matter
Document First
Every matter begins with the documents. We examine scheme rules, service records, and correspondence before forming any view. Impressions without evidence are not useful to clients.
Write, Don't Just Advise
Findings are always committed to paper. Written deliverables give clients something concrete to read, reflect on, and share with family before making decisions.
Stage-by-Stage Progress
Services are structured so that each stage is self-contained. The decision to proceed to the next stage is always the client's, made after reading the output of the current one.
Service One
Entitlement Check & Advisory Note
RM 300 — Fixed Fee
A careful review of your pension entitlements for those who suspect their benefits may not reflect what the scheme rules entitle them to. The lawyer examines applicable scheme rules, service records, and payment history, then prepares a written advisory note summarising what appears to be in order and what may warrant further attention.
The note is written in plain language. You read it at your own pace and decide whether to go further. There is no built-in expectation that further engagement will follow.
What This Service Covers
- Review of applicable pension scheme rules
- Examination of service records and payment history
- Identification of discrepancies or areas requiring follow-up
- Written advisory note delivered in plain language
- No obligation to proceed to further services
Process Steps
- 1Client provides documents (scheme rules, payment records, service letter)
- 2Lawyer reviews documents against applicable scheme rules and legislation
- 3Advisory note drafted in plain language — typically within 7–14 working days
- 4Note delivered to client; optional follow-up call to discuss findings
Service Two
Dispute Assessment with Written Opinion
RM 820 — Fixed Fee
Intended for clients who have already formed a view that something may be wrong and wish to understand the legal merits of a possible claim before committing to proceedings. The lawyer prepares a formal written opinion covering applicable law, the strength of available arguments, realistic prospects of success, likely costs if proceedings are pursued, and approximate timeframes.
Clients are actively encouraged to discuss the opinion with family before any further decision. There is no expectation of continued engagement arising from the receipt of the opinion.
What This Service Covers
- Analysis of applicable statutes, regulations, and case law
- Evaluation of available arguments and counter-arguments
- Realistic assessment of prospects — stated candidly
- Estimated costs and timeframes if proceedings are pursued
- Written opinion delivered in formal but accessible language
Process Steps
- 1Initial consultation to understand the facts and client concerns
- 2Document review and legal research — typically 10–18 working days
- 3Draft opinion prepared and reviewed by principal lawyer
- 4Final opinion delivered; consultation offered to discuss content before any decision
Service Three
End-to-End Pension Case Representation
RM 3,580 — Fixed Fee
Full handling of the client's matter from scheme-level appeal through regulator correspondence and, where required, proceedings before the Industrial Court or civil courts. The scope includes drafting of all documents, evidence assembly and management, hearing attendance, and ongoing negotiation where settlement opportunities arise.
The client receives written status updates on a regular cadence and retains the right to adjust instructions at each milestone — pause, settle, or continue, based on what the current position actually looks like.

- Regulator-level correspondence (EPF, SOCSO, KWAP as applicable)
- Industrial Court or civil court proceedings if required
- Evidence management and hearing attendance
- Written milestone updates and ongoing negotiation
- Client retains instruction-adjustment rights at each stage
Process Steps
- 1Engagement letter issued and signed; scope and fee confirmed
- 2File opened, documents organised, scheme-level appeal prepared and submitted
- 3Regulator correspondence or tribunal filing as required; client updated in writing
- 4Hearing preparation, attendance, and post-hearing review; client advised on next step options
- 5Settlement, judgment, or further appeal — client instructs at each milestone
